A couple of weeks ago, Los Rakas released their single, “Africana,” which is a positive message to brown girls everywhere. For my non-Spanish listeners, Rich and Dun rhyme about the acceptance of African heritage and Black beauty as they tribute the Afro-Latina women in their lives. As a member of the African diaspora, I applaud Los Rakas for speaking on this important subject of self-acceptance and pride. On top of all of that, the song is catchy and definitely has the reggae and Caribbean vibe. Check it out for yourself and make sure to download for free.
